3D data requires another ways to explore the data. Here you can find some exploratory examples:

A new article, showing the properties of the HII regions in the feasibility data of the CALIFA survey (plus PINGS), has been accepted for publishing in Astronomy and Astrophysics.

You can find a copy at the arXiv: 2012arXiv1208.1117S

We present the Color-Magnitude diagram of 151 galaxies observed by CALIFA. For each galaxy it is shown
a true-color image created using the B, V and R-band reconstructed images extracted from the CALIFA

We presented preliminar results about HII regions properties in CALIFA in the Metals in 3D Workshop. (PDF of the Presentation).

Funding is available for a student with EU nationality to undertake a PhD at the University of St Andrews under the supervision of Dr. Vivienne Wild, starting September 2012.

The project will involve the combined analysis of hydrodynamic simulations of galaxy mergers and observational datasets - focusing either on detailed observations of a small number of systems provided by CALIFA, or on the statistical samples provided by the GAMA survey http://www.gama-survey.org/ or, depending on the specific interests of the student.

he next CALIFA Busy Week will take place in Heidelberg at the Haus der Astronomie (HdA), next to Max Planck Institute for Astronomy (MPIA), from Monday June 11 (arrival before lunch ~12:30) through Friday June 15 (departure after lunch ~14:00).
